Royal 4 Systems Provides a Turnkey Solution
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the sixth busiest airport in the world and third in the United States, offering 692 daily flights to 85 domestic cities and 928 weekly nonstop flights to 67 cities in 34 countries on 64 passenger air carriers. In 2013, LAX served nearly 66.7 million passengers, processed more than 1.9 million tons of air cargo valued at over $91.6 billion, and handled 614,917 aircraft operations (landings and takeoffs). LAX is part of a system of three Southern California airports – along with LA/Ontario International and Van Nuys general aviation – that are owned and operated by Los Angeles World Airports, a proprietary department of the City of Los Angeles that receives no funding from the City’s general fund.
The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) warehouse stocks materials and supplies for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) operating and administrative decisions. On an annual sales basis, approximately $5 million of materials and supplies is transacted, approximately 80% of which supplies the nine air terminal buildings and other LAWA facilities
“WISE now enables dynamic location management with directed pick, pack and ship functionality to the main warehouse for LAX and their 9 terminals”, says Abdul Fakhri, Royal 4 lead implementation manager. “The WISE system is integrated directly to their SAP software so that data flows freely between the two systems, giving employees the ability to manage orders in both SAP and WISE“, says Fakhri.
“This new capability enables true real time visibility and valuation by location. Royal 4 Systems won this award beating out ACSIS, MSA/Clear Orbit, Samsung, SAP WMS and Continental Wireless” says Tony Bosco, Royal 4 project manager. Martin Obregon the Executive Assistant for Los Angeles World Airports and project manager on this project adds “Royal 4 Systems was a good partner throughout the entire project. My colleagues and I would highly recommend the WISE Warehouse Management System and the Royal 4 implementation team to other businesses looking for a Warehouse solution”.
