PRODUCTION ACTIVITY CONTROL (PAC)

Production Activity Control modules are delivered embedded in the concurrent licensing model for the R4 ERP. Working with inventory management and manufacturing design, the production activity control module (PAC) tracks manufacturing activities from issuance of work orders to completion of jobs. It encompasses shop floor control, job costing, and labor performance functions. Work orders could be manually launched, triggered by make to order environments, or created by MRP, DRP or MPS planned orders. Work orders could be created using the standards established in the manufacturing design module and print them to provide accurate documentation on the shop floor while simplifying paper flow.

Track costs by entering time and materials on a job by job basis; variance from standards are measured for material rate and efficiency, labor rate and efficiency and applied burden.
The PAC module can help a company achieve the following:

  • Improved productivity.
  • Improved quality.
  • Improved customer satisfaction.
  • Improved inventory control.
  • Improved costing.

PAC SYSTEM BENEFITS

Production Activity Control provides an improved monitoring of fabrication or transformation processes common to manufacturers in industries such as the automotive aftermarket.

Colony Tire

“The entire process was streamlined to meet the high transactional volumes, improve order fill rates and better serve customers. In addition, we have realized a 99% inventory accuracy rate and can better meet customer expectations with significant, accuracy and service improvements.”

Improve Productivity

See which materials have an unusual waste factor. Monitor the performance of employees and their managers, direct vs. overhead labor, and variances by work center or operation. Reduce clerical costs. No need to reenter the transactions of the shop floor to obtain accurate cost accounting, inventory tracking, and efficiency calculations.

Improve Productivity
Improve Quality

Improve Quality

Centralize up to date bill of materials with routings automatically transferred to the work order, and print with unlimited instructions. Effective communications translate into fewer errors and immediate correction.

Improve Customer Satisfaction

Be aware of overdue work orders, and (through the use of eWISE), keep customers informed on current job status via a secured web interface.

INCREASED EFFICIENCY

IMPROVE INVENTORY CONTROL

Materials are allocated to work orders, to reflect the proper stock status. Know the current status in each warehouse.

STREAMLINE DATA ENTRY

A training database allows you to experiment and learn without affecting company data. Standard default values make data entry quick while limiting errors. Complete audit trails by operator encourage quality input. Routine functions can be stacked, thus reducing time spent on repetitive tasks. Bill of material and routing information can be automatically copied into a work order. Work orders can be automatically generated from the master plan. Interface with other software modules, such as inventory management, bill of materials, production planning, and payroll.

WORK ORDER TRACKING

Work order tracking keeps management informed of the status of all jobs until completion.

IMPROVE COST CONTROL

Establish your estimated costs on a job by job basis or define them using the bill of materials module. Track actual costs automatically from the entry of time and materials transactions. See up to date costing and job status information for any or all open jobs. Analyze the variance due to over/under utilization, waste, or price differences for both materials and labor. Analyze by product line or department to verify that objectives are met.

LABOR EFFICIENCY

Labor efficiency highlights deviation from standards by employee and department.

VERIFY OBJECTIVES

Analyze information by product line or department to verify that objectives are met.

ESTIMATE COSTS

Establish your estimated costs on a job by job basis, or define them using the manufacturing design module. Track actual costs automatically from the entry of time and materials transactions.

JOB STATUS

See up to date costing and job status information for any or all open jobs.

ANALYZE VARIANCES

Analyze variances due to over/under utilization, waste or price differences for both materials and labor.
